Around and about the Bay of Kotor
Montenegro Bay or locally, Boka Bay, is the southernmost fjord in Europe. It is difficult to be indifferent about this magnificent work of nature. The land climbs from the narrow shore line and embraces the peaks, intensifying the clear blue sky.
Boka, a long winding inlet, 27 kilometers (17 miles) long, is the most recognized tourist attraction of Montenegro.
Since the early days of Greek civilization through Illyrian culture, Roman heritage, influences of Byzantines, Venetian legacy, followed by Russian, Napoleon and Austrian Empire days, Boka has always been an extremely important geostrategic place for this part of Europe.
This is a land of multicultural heritage, natural uniqueness and exceptional beauty. In the heat of the summer it is beneficial to experience this distinctive area by boat. Enjoy a 360-degree view, sample the local flavors in coastal taverns and meet the culture of this region while avoiding the summer road crowds.
